NOTE: Until further notice, our Community Groups will not be meeting in person. Our groups will resume when the "Stay Home, Stay Safe" executive order is changed or cancelled.
On Sundays we gather to worship. The rest of the week, we are deployed to serve! This is what "Community Groups" is all about. Our Community Groups are small groups (5-15 people) which meet in homes, apartments, and other locations all over the area. Each group meets once per week for about 60 minutes for conversation, prayer, and Bible study, also gathering regularly for community service projects. The day, time, and location of each group's meeting is determined by the participants in each group.
Our Community Groups ministry exists for three main purposes:
To provide encouragement and support to all participants through conversation, prayer, and shared activities.
To promote spiritual growth by studying the Scriptures in an informal, group context.
To serve our community through love and good deeds. Each Community Group chooses its own community projects. For example, some groups may serve the staff and residents of our area nursing homes, others may serve the Hospital Auxiliary, others may volunteer at a crisis pregnancy center or homeless shelter, others may volunteer at the Farmer's Market, etc. The opportunities for our groups are nearly endless!
Our Community Groups are open to anyone who wants to participate. So whether you are young or old, married or single, a devout Christian or just interested in Christianity, you are welcome to join a group! Simply choose which group you want to be a part of and contact the church office to express your interest. Our current groups are these:
