YOUR FIRST VISIT

Sometimes the scariest part about visiting a new church is not knowing what to expect when you arrive. We don’t want this fear to keep you from coming to Grace! If you have any additional questions after reading this info, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE

Parking: We have a large parking lot behind our church building and a couple of handicapped spaces in front if needed. After parking, most people enter the church from the glass door in the side of the building with the "Welcome" decal on it.

Greeters: We have two greeters posted just outside the main auditorium every Sunday morning. They will welcome you to our church and hand you a Program and Welcome Packet. If you have any questions before the service begins, our greeters will be glad to help you. If you arrive late, a hall monitor will be nearby to assist you.

Nursery & Preschool: Nursery care is provided every Sunday for children up to age 3. The room is located just outside the auditorium, and it is staffed by caring and well-trained workers. Our greeter can show you where to find the room if you need assistance. Since we are a family-integrated church, all kids over age 3 are encouraged to worship with their parents in the auditorium. If you wish to understand why we embrace a family-integrated church model, just click HERE.

THE WORSHIP EVENT

Start Time:
Morning worship begins at 10:00am. You should plan to arrive 10 minutes early so you have time to get a Program, drop your children off in the nursery (if you have young children), and find a seat in the auditorium. However, if you are a little late, it's okay! We would rather have you a little late than to have you not come at all!

Attendance: On a typical Sunday morning about 75 people gather for worship. Our congregation is multi-generational and comes from all walks of life. We have visitors in attendance most weeks, but we never single them out!

Attire: Our pastor always wears a tie, but most of the congregation dresses more casually. The men typically wear a collared shirt and pants, though some wear a t-shirt and jeans. Most of the women come in a dress, skirt, or dress slacks. Our goal is to dress in a way that lets people direct their attention toward God, and not toward ourselves.

Music Style: Our instrumentation includes a piano, organ, euphonium, acoustic guitar, and other classical instruments. We try to provide a blend of psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs each week which reflect the best of the Christian tradition, past and present.

Sermons: Our pastor typically speaks for about 35 minutes, and his speaking style is conversational (in other words, no yelling or pulpit pounding!). The purpose of each sermon is to help us understand and apply a specific Bible passage. Our pastor preaches from the English Standard Version of the Bible (ESV). If you don’t own an ESV Bible you may use one of the many Bibles available under the chairs in the auditorium. We also have gift ESV Bibles in the main hallway that you are welcome to take home with you at no charge.

AFTER WORSHIP

After morning worship (which lasts about 60 minutes) we have a 15-minute reception called Grace Cafe. Light refreshments are available in the Fellowship Hall at no charge. We would encourage you to take advantage of this time to get to know our people better.

Following Grace Cafe, from 11:15-noon, we break up into our Growth Groups classes.

Our Location: 500 Cosmopolitan Ave.  Marshall, MI  49068
